God of Miracles

CONGRATULATIONS, DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you it brings me to tears! I'm so grateful for your marvelous, humble, faithful example and for the blessings our Heavenly Father is pouring out upon us! You are Sister Richey's and my hero! Alyssa, I'm not surprised at that! You are such a fantastic young lady and I know He's blessing you so you can continue to bless those around you. You are a fantastic force for good! Keep it up! Maree, how are you feeling?? What's going on over deah? I love you and I know your choice to return to school was a really tough one. I want you to know I fully support you and will do all I can to make it a pleasant semester for you. I feel you will find more miracles and blessings awaiting you there than you can imagine at this present time. Joseph, what a dashing young man you are! Please don't cut your hair because I MUST see it first! You are such a fantastic person and I'm so excited to give you a noogie again! Becca, it sounds like you're doing a superb job and keeping everyone in smiles and laughter! You are one of a kind and WE LOVE IT! Not to mention SUPER gorgeous! ;) Mom, you are--more than ever--the super mom! You are such a busy woman, but you don't let the business drive you--it's always the Spirit that does. Thank you! You are an inspiration to us all! As for the *ehem* vacation... I say, who sleeps, anyway?!?! :D Let's just go! I think you could all use it and I just want to be with you anyway! The thing is... where will we go to church and would that mean I'd speak the next weekend, on the 19th? I'll get home from my mission and everyone will think we've left the Church! Just kidding. ;) I'll leave the details up to you, but don't worry about me! I'm totally game for whatever! As long as I still get to go to church :D I'll send my info in another email.I'm not sure how we'll work out school at this point, but I don't feel worried about it. It will all be good. As for things here, wow! Things are thriving and it's tough, but it's fantastic! I am experiencing a real trial of my faith. I have an increased testimony of the authority of the priesthood and the power that comes through righteous living. I was given a marvelous blessing last night, full of incredible promises, if I will just do His will and not my own. That is what it's all about, isn't it? President Lorenzo Snow is right-- when we seek the will of the Father, we will not fail. The words of the Savior are true... If HE could do nothing of Himself, but only of the Father, how much more do WE need to rely on Him and do His will? I love the Lord! His judgments are just! His way is easy and His burden is light if we will yoke ourselves with Him! Miracles are happening here. I know that if we will all be exactly obedient, we will be blessed beyond measure. We will see miracles abound in our lives. But we must wait on the Lord. Let's do sing Jesus, The Very Though of Thee. What a sweet hymn! It's so beautiful and close to my heart. Sister Richey and I are learning a lot--mostly from mistakes ;P We've goofed up a bunch as we try to grow into our responsibilities, but our Father in Heaven is patient and kind. The Lord wants to forgive. It is such a blessing to work with such a valiant, Christlike missionary. I feel blessed beyond measure. Everyone should have a companion like her. Noni is close to baptism and we're so excited! He is a stalwart individual, so humble and willing to sacrifice. He will be blessed beyond measure! Joyvin is doing so well! He will be baptized August 10 and worked with us for the first time yesterday. His testimony was powerful and he's pushing along with his commitment to live the word of wisdom. He's got suckers in his pocket all the time :) We love him so much. That's all for now! I'm sending you all loves and hugs from Pasay City Philippines! Sister Richardson

Sweet is the Peace

What a busy week!!! And it's about to get busier! We went on exchanges with our kabahay-- two sweet sisters that live in our apartment. Sisters Pascual and Belardo are AWESOME! They are fantastic missionaries and it was a great experience. I learned a lot working with Sis. Belardo in my area. She opened her mouth everywhere and we found many new investigators! Sister Richey and I have been.. for lack of a better term, tearing it up! It's been a fast-paced week and we feel delightfully exhausted each night when we come home. Last night, we went with a member to his family's home and taught his mom and younger siblings. WOW! Those people are so prepared! They will be baptized in August and we need to exercise our faith as we try to help one brother work out his insane work schedule to be able to always attend church and read the scriptures. They are wonderful! Brother Noni will be asking today for his day off to be sunday and we are praying for him. His baptism is on the 27th, so this is a critical time. That's how it is for Joyvin, too, who is quitting a long-time addiction to prepare to enter the waters of baptism on August 10th... along with Rezzie and Redelyn Tolentino! I feel like it's really going to happen this time. They really are going to be able to gain a testimony and be baptized as long as they keep reading every day like they did this last week. It is a time of miracles. I want to share with you what I've been learning about faith, hope, charity, and love. They are all so closely related. I know that we need them all to be able to press forward, with steadfast faith in Christ, endure to the end, and receive eternal life. (2 Nephi 31:20). We obtain a hope for eternal life as we exercise faith in Jesus Christ, repent, are baptized for a remission of sins and continuously renew our baptismal covenant, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end by making and keeping sacred covenants. As we do this, we grow in love for God and our fellow men. We desire their happiness and salvation. We also become more like Jesus Christ as we study His words and live after His example. His gospel is real. His atonement is, too. I know He lives and I will do anything to know Him. Thank you for your love and support always! I'm so sorry if I haven't always responded directly to your correspondence with me. You are the best family and friends anyone could ask for! Stay true! Stay strong! And God will ever bless you! We're excited to do a couple more exchanges this week. I get to work with my dear, beloved Sister Grant again!!! What a huge blessing! And the next week..... PALAWAN!!! Haha I'm incredibly excited! We get to do exchanges with the 3 sister companionships over there, so we'll be there for three days. I'll take lots of pictures, though I'm not sure how quickly I'll get them to you! Both Sister Richey and I have never been there, so it will be an adventure! We'll do all we can to learn from and help the wonderful sisters there! Good luck, Daddy on finals! I love you muchly and muchly! Aaron and pals, so proud of you and all you're doing! Keep up the great work! Aaron, so sorry I didn't say happy bday 2 weeks ago, but I thought of you on your birthday! You rock!!! Mommy, you're a shero! Love you sooooo much! Any luck with registration yet? If not, don't sweat! All is well! Keep takin care, all y'all, of my beloved siblings, you hear???? LOVE YOU!!!! Sister Richardson

Work of Salvation.

This was a powerful week, I tell you what! It was pretty fabulous! We had some really interesting moments and just about lost our guts laughing so hard and our predicaments... So on friday, we reveiwed the baptismal interview questions with brothers Regie and Robert. They are fantastic and so prepared. They are truly repentant and converted. Brother Regie is the husband of a recently returned member and their daughter will also be interviewed by Bishop for baptism. Robert is Regie's brother and is one of the funniest people on the planet and so incredibly converted to Christ and His gospel. This would, I believe, be a completed family... I'll have to double check on that.  As we reviewed the BIQs, there were a couple things that came up, so we needed to contact President Stucki so he could interview them. Their interview with our district leader was the following day (saturday) so it could be announced in church on sunday. Well... President's been incredibly busy with the mission split and he was unable to get back to us til saturday afternoon. In the mean time, we thought they'd still be interviewed b/c that's what our zone leader advised, but we get there and ...no one's there. And Sister Grant steps in gum. We laugh really hard and then  start to text the Nedia family after hearing from our district leader that we'll just wait til President can interview them, but just then their family pulled up in the tricycle... That was fun. So we informed them and went back to where we had lessons. President called yesterday morning and was able to attend our ward conference and then interview brothers Robert and Regie while Sister Stucki attended and really spiritual gospel principles class about the Sabbath Day with us. After the interview, President said to us, "Well sisters, they'll make great members of the Church!" I fully agree! They will be baptized on saturday, July 6th at 4pm. I am very honored to be the only one of the 4 of us who taught them (they were in S. Hayden and S. Pascual's area, so we've only been teaching them a few weeks since the sisters were moved to another ward) to be able to attend their baptism. I did so little, but it's been a huge blessing for me to witness a portion of their conversion.  It's a new transfer starting this wednesday and Sister Grant will be leaving me :( ...so will Sister Hayden :( I'm going to miss them so much!!! We don't know where S. Grant will be yet, but I know she'll be awesome! And Sister Hayden will rock it in a new area, shotgun training! And S. Pascual and I will still be ka-bahay, and she'll have a new missionary to train! I will be staying in Pasay 1st, trying to prepare it for a set of elders to join in the work in August, and serving as a Sister Training Leader. It will definitely keep me busy. There is so much to do and I fear this last transfer will fly by far too quickly. The Lord is hastening His work, as I'm sure you all felt in the Work of Salvation broadcast! It was so inspiring! It's really happening and we're so blessed to be a part of it! The best part of all of it is... THE FAMILY! It's all about our families and our big, eternal family! And I'm so proud of my own, who are doing their part in the work of salvation! Joseph HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're 14 years old, so big, and even bigger spiritually! I'm so blessed, of all the brothers I could have in this world, YOU were IT! You're the best and my favorite :D Thank you for being an example of Christlike leadership in the priesthood, at every age. Congratulations on your ordination to the office of a teacher! You will continue to be blessed as you bless your fellow quorum members. You are a blessing to all those around you! I will be praying for all of you. I know there are struggles that you are facing. Satan's influence is rampant and there is nothing he would desire more than to ensnare a stalwart person, such as yourself. Be constantly aware and strive to ever listen to the still, small voice of the Spirit. He will guide, protect, and comfort you. Daddy, your email was magulo and nakakatawa! So you! You're working so hard and are such an inspiriation to me. Thank you! The same to you, Mommy dear! You are such a strong influence for good in the lives of all those around you. Thank you for your faithful prayers and sacrifices! I'll get on my way and send a little message to Raisy-Days and Lou-lou Bug. I love you all! I know Christ lives and this is His Church! I know His work is that of salvation-- for all mankind! Have a marvelous week!!!! Sister Richardson

Hastening!

Wow! The Lord really is hastening His work! And there is much to be done and contribute in this Work of Salvation! There is much required of us at this time. Sister Richey, my new companion, and I are so busy and it feels so good! We desire to use the Lord's time the way He wants us to and I'm finding more balance and power in my efforts than ever before. It's almost impossible to describe to you the changes that are occurring. We just had 31 new missionaries arrive this transfer! And next transfer ALL the sisters will need to train! It's incredible! The Nedia family was baptized on saturday and it was a joyful experience! President and Sister Stucki were able to attend, and all those Nedia brothers and their friends and acquaintances outside playing basketball came in to witness the baptism of Regie and Robert, and Regie's and Rodessa's daughter, Ressa. There was a strong Spirit as they bore testimony. We now have an opportunity to teach more of their family and hope many more conversions will follow. Their cousin Noni is preparing for the 27th of this month and could use your prayers. He has been training for a job that will require him to work on Sunday. We have invited him to pray in faith for the help of the Lord to help him decide what to do and that all will work out. I know that our God works miracles according to our faith.  Sister Richey and I have been learning a lot about faith. Our exact obedience depends on our faith. Our action and salvation depend on our faith. Our meeting our goals depends on our faith. I have been feeling a lot like you, Lou... Feeling like maybe He doesn't realize quite whom He picked... It feels like way too much goodness for someone like me to be capable of. It's hard to explain. But I know that He knows us and He calls us because He wants to make us more like Him. And I know that when we give it all to Him, we will be :) Thank you for the sharing of your adventures! The Rexburg temple font is probably my favorite that I've visited. I know you'll enjoy it! And the videos will be a blast! I'm excited to see them. Rae, I sent you a quick response :) I love you! I have to print of mommy's and daddy's emails, so I don't get to respond directly to you this week, but please know how much I love and appreciate you! You are the best ever!!!! And I don't wanna pop everyone's bubble, but how would you feel about putting the money you saved toward your mission?? Or toward Joseph's, Rae's, or someone's? Just wondering.  LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well. You're all in my prayers! Love, Sister Richardson

RoLLeR cOAsteR

Whoah, what a week! It was an adventure and a half! We had some pretty rough moments, but it turned out to be a fantastic experience. Here's just a little bit about it...

We cleaned our slate. We felt we were working really hard and not getting as far as we'd like, so we took a look at who we were teaching and realized it was probably time to let go of some of those who weren't acting to accept the Savior's invitation to come unto Him. It's a hard thing to do, especially when you love them inexpressibly. There is such an increased capacity to love as a full-time missionary. I believe we're all capable of it, but it's just an ever-expanding balloon as a missionary. It's hard to explain, but feels so good!

Anyway, we felt renewed after that and felt really good about it. We were disappointed, however, with the outcome of a few of our visits to people we were sure would progress. But don't get sad! It gets better! We had a great opportunity when we talked to a sweet, receptive lady about her family and offered to teach her about how to hold a family home evening. We're going back on saturday when they're all at home together and not working. She then introduced us to a less-active member that lives right there! As we sat down with her, we opened with a hymn--I am a Child of God. The Spirit touched her and she shed a few tears as she expressed that she knows she is a child of God. We feel we can help her come back and hopefully teach her husband. The Spirit really guides us.

We also found a great lady on the way home from the temple today! She seemed pretty receptive to our brief statements about the Plan of Salvation, as restored to the earth through a living prophet. There are people EVERYWHERE the Lord has prepared! He will lead them to us and us to them. We want to find most of them through the members because they are the full-time finders and we're the full-time teachers.

We had a beautiful lesson with Bro. Robert Nedia, who will be baptized July 6. He is so converted and I felt the Spirit so strongly as we bore testimony of the blessings of keeping commandments. He's willing to give up anything to follow Christ. He is a choice spirit.

Welp, I'm sorry that's all I can tell you about for now! I love you and hope you had a great week! Let's go out there and have another great one! Press Forward, Saints! with love of God and love of all mankind... Halelujah! Hurrah for Israel!

Ulan... and ulan

So... Rainy season has begun!

It rained a lot on Thursday and we spent most of the day partially soaked. Haha, oh adventures. It's more fun in the Philippines!

We found some pretty neat people we hope will progress. A couple potential families. It's so neat to feel like I've met certain people before. Some people are so familiar.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the BEST DAD EVER!!! I sent you an email, so check that, mkay, Dadstum? ;) And please pass it on to my grampy!!! LOVE HIS GUTS! hugs and kisses to both of you!

Happy Father's Day as well to all the wonderful fathers of my friends, like Angus and Gary, Daddy Smallwood and Daddy Grant, Hayden, and Stromberg, and Tatay Fernando, and Ronquillo, as well as Sis. Gupta's Indian daddy. I'm so grateful to you all for bringing into this world my beloved friends and companions!  I love them so and I love you so!

I want to share my testimony that we have a very loving eternal Father in Heaven. He celebrates our victories, rejoices in our righteousness, and weeps with us when we choose wrong. He knows us and wants us to communicate with Him through sincere prayer. He has provided a way for us to return to live with Him, to become like Him, and to obtain all that He has. This way is the gospel of Jesus Christ, which has been restored by our loving Heavenly Father through the prophet Joseph Smith. The fulness of the gospel is contained in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Let's take some time to celebrate our fathers and give thanks to our loving Father in Heaven for all with which He has blessed us!

Thank you, Mom, for fixing that! Is there still a possibility of getting housing? I think, ultimately, plan B is probably going to be a lot better for all of us. And I say that, knowing how much you'd love to meet these ppl and i'd love for you to meet them. I'll let you make the final decision. I love you dearly.

Love,

your sister Kylee Richardson

Clean Slate

Another week has flown by! Brother and Sister Tolentino were baptized on saturday and it was quite an experience! We'll just say we had technical difficulties for an hour or a few before we were able to start, but everything turned out okay :) The Spirit was so strong as they bore testimony. Even though I know there is much to do yet to strengthen them, I'd like to share how Heavenly Father answered Sister's prayer.

When the missionaries first arrived at their home, she said, it was the start of some big changes in their home and family. She had told us that first meeting that when she wants to do something, she does it. When she doesn't, she doesn't. She didn't want to commit to much right away.

As she tried the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, she prayed to Heavenly Father that if it was true, that He'd help her husband quit his vices. Time went by after his first commitment to live the Word of Wisdom and he had considerably lessened, but had not quit. This time she prayed and asked that if it was true, if he could quit in a week. Within a week's time, he had quit smoking altogether.

I know that this was an answer to sincere and faithful prayer on his behalf, as well as the entire family. Much peace and comfort have come to them through their reception of the restored gospel. They are happier, better people. They are clean! And the journey has just begun.

Rezzie and Redelyn were able to attend :) We'll have to follow up on what they experienced.

I want to also tell you something that Sister Grant shared with us as we talked about how busy things are and how hard it is to prioritize things the right way, always wanting to do the best things and not waste the Lord's precious time. She was in a Q&A with Elder Bednar and her mom asked him, "How do you do it, Elder Bednar? How do you balance everything?" And he said simply, "You don't. Stop trying." He went on to say that sometimes you'll have a busy week and you won't make it to scouts. He shrugged and said something like, "Oh well. Try again next week." It's not that we need to balance everything in this perfect, aerobatic, tight-rope, tip-toe, gram-for-gram type of way. We just need to do what we can with what we've got. We follow the guidance we receive to put the most important things first and then say, "Well, maybe that could've gone better. So what? It turned out okay. I'll do better tomorrow." Good enough is good enough.

Dad, you are a delight! Let's celebrate with 3 cheers for the best daddy ever!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY FATHERS DAY! HIP-HIP-HOORAY! HIP-HIP HOORAY! HIP-HIP HOOOOORRAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's to you, Father!

I love you, Dad! And I'm so glad your passport finally came! I'll pray for the finding of just what we need to get you here!

Mom, thank you for your shining example! What a blessing you are to those around you! You fill the world with light. Each of my wonderful family members does!

YOU'RE THE BEST AND I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's sing Bring the World His Truth! and read Alma 56:56!

IT"S SO TRUE! IT'S SO TRUE! I love the Lord and His work or I wouldn't be here. It's the truest thing there is.

OKIE DOK!

Soo.... Bro. and Sis. Tolentino are getting baptized this saturday!!!! They were interviewed yesterday and they're ready! Rezzie and Redelyn still need a little time, but it will come. We just keep praying.

I feel a strong sense of urgency in the work. It's just time to be better. It's time to run faster, lift higher, be stronger. It's time to give my best every minute. It's really always time for that, but there are indications everywhere that we need to take it up a notch. At the same time, I want to keep in mind what I learned from a Mormon Message Sister Hayden shared with me: "Choose Ye This Day" by Pres. Eyring--we don't need to do it all. We just need to give our time to Him and let Him accomplish His purposes through us. It will make all the difference. If we will get on our knees and ask Him daily to let us be His instruments, we will see miracles--we will be a part of them.

I had a very spiritual experience while fasting this time. I just want to share with you that I know our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers of faith. He knows our needs and will give us what we need, when we need it. If we will trust in His will and timing, we will see our deepest desires fulfilled.

I can't believe I didn't send my last email!!! I'm so sorry! Here it is now! Please forgive me! I'll double check next time! So sorry! Sadly, I really did just forget to press send... I actually had a ready email. Now you'll get it... :D

Daddy, I'm excited to see what now lies ahead for you as you are now free to receive a new calling :) Hehee.... I might just send Bishop a little text and tell him you'd love to be the new EQ President haha! Joke lang. No, I can't actually text Bishop... Haha but oh, if I could! I'm glad everyone's good and I'm looking forward to meeting some of our family's new friends like Amber.

Mom, thank you for the updates on everyone. I will be sure to do that. To be honest as far as school, I felt pretty good about either going or not going. It seems to be more hassle and worry at this point to register, but I'll ask permission anyway. I'm not sure how much is in there, but whatever needs to happen, we'll figure it out. I'm sure it'll feel more urgent when it's the only thing ahead for me, but with all that's going on here, it feels like no big deal :)
I know you're doing just what the Lord would have you and that the struggle of starting a new responsibility like that will get much easier as time goes on. How grateful I am that the Lord always allows me time to grow into each responsibility He gives me! We have to remember that we won't have it mastered right away. That takes time and He knows that. He'll help us.
I'm excited for the girls' jobs, Joj's bball, and Boo's break. They're all the BEST!

Can I pick also to sing Home Can Be a Heaven on Earth? I love that one! I think we'll sing it later in our FHE with Dara, Kince, and France. I love them so much. They're some ppl you have to meet.

We've moved apartments and made some adjustments. It's an adventure! We love the Lord, each other, and of course, the Philippinos!!!! Sister Grant still rocks and we're friends for life.

I love you all! Sister RIchardson Hurrah for Israel!

My heavenly father loves me

Dearest loved ones, of whom I'm so proud, Hugs to you from the Philippines! I love you dearly and want you to know how proud I am of who you are and what you do! I learn so much from you and I can never thank you enough for it! Mom, thank you for the insight of the filled cup. My cup runneth over with all the blessings we receive at His hand, especially in this great work that is ever rolling forth: the work of eternal life and eternal families. WHAT A BLESSING! If it's okay, I'd like to ask how Sam is doing. I haven't written or communicated with him in a long while and just want to know how he is.  Gosh, I'm just so proud of my parents and siblings!!! Way to go, Joj, on the talk! Way to go, Dad, on the patience! Way to go, Mom, on the courageous cup-filling! Way to go, Boo, on the 42 pounds of blonde goodness! Way to go, Maree, on the new and awesome friend I'm excited to meet! Way to go, Lou, on the finish of a great year! I hope next year is filled with more fun and less stress! I learn so much from your hope, faith, diligence, and other Christlike Attributes (mga katangiang tulad ng kay Cristo-- gotta love new vocab!)! Thank you soooo much! I know we can all accomplish the Lord's work and our other worthy, honorable goals as we follow the direction of the Spirit. It's so amazing to have the unspeakable gift!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU FAMILY!!! It was the best to see and talk to you! I hope I helped you feel a little of the joy I feel here. I'm sorry it went by so fast. I didn't want to waste a second. I feel like the best moments just happen as they come. How blessed I am to have you! You are too wonderful for words!

Please keep praying for us to find and teach families. If the Tolentinos are this wonderful and prepared, there have to be thousands more just like them! Please pray to help us find them through the members and bring them to Christ. They need this as much as we do in this troubled, scary world. We need the protection and safety and peace of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know the Savior lives. I know the family has a divine role now and in eternity and that mothers are indispensible to that role. WHAT A WONDERFUL MOTHER WE HAVE!!!! We are blessed beyond measure to be "born of goodly parents" who love and serve the Lord above all else, honor their temple covenants, and place marriage and family above all the things of this world. No one could be better, in my eyes. I strongly feel I gratefully accepted the opportunity to be born with such a mother, part of such a family who would help me find joy in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come. Mom, THANK YOU for all you are! Thank you for showing us the way by humble example. Thank you for making each day a beautiful part of our journey, taking the time to help us resolve problems, and for teaching us after the learnings of our fathers. Thank you for being the mother I want to be! Thank you for loving the Lord, then Dad, then us! It's the best thing you could ever do for us! For me personally. Thank you for searching, pondering, and praying daily and constantly to know and do the will of our Father in Heaven. I know He blesses you with inspiration to guide the decisions you make each day. Thank you, THANK YOU, ThAnK yOu!!! You are the best, best BEST!

I have a birthday card for Lou almost finished, Mom's mother's day letter, and still trying to figure out a good idea for Joseph's birthday card as well as Dad's fathers day letter... They're on the way, don't worry! I don't forget you!!!

The work is really good. We're searching for ways to be more effective and bring more souls unto Christ. I think part of it is that we need to let go of the people who aren't particularly progressing so that those who will really accept it and take off can have more of our time. It's hard to not focus on them as much. It's hard to say if it's time or not or if they've had what they need in order to make that decision clearly, but I'm realizing more and more that as we trust the Lord, He will give us what to say and do. He won't let us stray when we are doing all we can to qualify for His guidance and follow it. He'll take care of us and them.

Heavenly Father has carried us through so much. I know there are many more things to come that will help us to learn, grow, and gain experience. I'm sure you feel the same way. I'm glad He has connected us and helped us grow together all this time. We're having adventures and the journey is exciting! There is much to be done and much to enjoy. It's a wonderful life!

Dad, you look super cute with your goatee :D I missed that. Bring it with you if you don't decide to shave it off by then! You are my definition of  a man of God. Yesterday we watched The John Tanner Story, which is very touching. We discussed how he sacrificed everything and was a true man of God, whose heart was true. The Lord looketh on the heart and you, Dad, have one that is very pleasing to God.

Maree, I'm so sad I missed you! But your email was sooo happy and full of voice! You are a fun writer to read. You're very good at that. You're very good at so many things. You're especially good at helping me when I need it. Thank you for being such a loving, selfless person. You will continue to be very blessed in life as you continue developing those Christlike attributes. What a woman you are!

Alyssa, it was so goooood to see you! I wanted to squeeze you and tickle your bum! You are such a woman as well! When I think of the scriptures about letting virtue garnish our thoughts unceasingly and to always abound in good works, I think of you! That is you all the way. THank you for your righteous example!

Joseph, what a man you are becoming! And you're still so fun and full of energy! Just becoming such a shining example of humble faith. You exude it in your countenance. I love that. I want to be like that. And tons of wonderful women will want to be sealed forever to that after you've served a faithful mission :D You will be an instrument in the hands of the Lord for much good.

Becca, you warm my heart! I don't care if we spoil you to death 'cause you're the youngest and we're supposed to do that!!!! I want to treat you like the princess you are! You have divine worth and potential that go far deeper and beyond your obvious physical beauty and the exuberance of your personality. You are attractive to people because of your many qualities and features, but most particularly for your valiant spirit. You love your Father, you know who you are, and you know He loves you and you love Him! That gives you a limitless power for good.

It was really fun to see Aaron, too! Though I'm not entirely sure that was kosher... But I'm so glad to see you well and happy! You are so awesome and deserve to be! Keep enjoying the journey and changing the world, one test at a time! You're already a teacher :) Wooooow

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO MY WONDERFUL GRANDMAS AND AUNTS AND COUSINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best mothers I know! It's because of you that I'm where I am today! Thank you for your righteous influence in my life! Happy Mother's Day to all my friends and their moms! You are the best!!!! I love and appreciate you! May the 4th be with you! And.. Sinco de Mayo!

Haha we have an Elder Sinco in our district, so I figured yesterday could be his day for now :)

How is everyone over there? Still loving your guts from the heat of the Pilipinas! Sister Grant and I are loving our members, investigators, each other, and our sweet companions at the bahay--Sisters Hayden and Pascual. "Life could not be better... I choose the right down to the letter... Hey, look! My mom made me a sweater! ...And life could not be better!" Hehee good ol' Nephi! I need a sweater just about as much as he does right now!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOMMICUS!!!!!! Goarsh I'm excited to honor your special day! I have Lou's bday card as well as your letter in the works and it'll be in the mail bukas! Exciting stuff! Or actually, probably in the mail wednesday since that's when we'll be by the office for Zone Conference. Looking forward to that!

Also looking forward to chatting with you! I forwarded President Stucki's email. I think he has never really discouraged skype and I actually prefer it and don't know how to do it with the phone, but he seems to prefer the call if it can be done that way. The thing is, how would I get to talk with Maree' if we did it that way? I'm not sure how to work it out at this point since we've only a week and don't email daily.

Mom, thank you so much for your faith and prayers. We've needed them. We've had some interesting challenges and have needed the boost. I appreciate it so much. THank you for being in tune. We really are okay, though! Don't you worry! I hope you'll get to say hi to m'dear Sis Grant on Mother's Day. She's so wonderful! I know you'll love her. We're going to be roommies or something because I'm going to convince her to come back to Rexburg!

We had an incredible meeting on Friday. It marked history! The first Mission Leadership Council meeting in the Philippines Manila Mission! And I got to be one of just a few sisters to attend! What a blessing! It is replacing Zone Leader Conference now. It was a meeting of revelation and inspiration. I'm excited for more of that at Zone Conference (which includes ALL the missionaries in several zones, unlike ZLC, which only included Zone Leaders). It will be awesome!

THANK YOU FOR THE PACKAGE!!!! It was so oooo oooooo oooooo fun! IS so fun!!!! HOW DID THEY THINK OF THOSE CAKE PEEPS?!?!?!? I want to give those brilliant people a big kiss on the elbow and shake their hands!!! Traditional Philippines culture... JOKE! There are no elbow-kissers here :D Hehee just thought I'd keep you on your toes! But I would definitely bless them the Philippino way!

Just so you know, the Tolentinos are doing well! They've quit what they need to and we're going to get the baptism and everything fixed so we have an exact goal later tonight. It had to be moved because of the Word of Wisdom, but so far, so good!

We had another investigator come for the first time this week! Pretty exciting. I think she was welcomed well. We'll see if we can convince her to let go of the Catholic stuff and dive into the Book of Mormon. So far, so good!

We also have a few members who seem close to beginning their return! They are great and we're really trying to help them see how important it is for their happiness. So far, so good!

Hehee, I love Anne! Count me in! But that Star Wars will always be a part of me...

Shoot a mile, I gotta run. I love you all!!!!! Give Sis STROMBERG a HUUUUUGE hug for me!!!! i love you, SIs!!! How are you doing>?!??!?

Goodness... What a week!

Goodness... What a week!

We are having a great time exploring and trying new things! We love the Lord and we love this work! Sister Grant is a strength to me at all times. She receives inspiration, follows promptings, serves with all her heart, might, mind, and strength,.... and just plain ROCKS! She helps me see more clearly and just makes life grand!

Let me share something we've learned together...

The Lord uses imperfect people to accomplish his eternal purposes.

He doesn't require us first to be perfect, but helps us become so as we turn everything over to Him.

I thought of running. No, our life's not just a race, it's a journey. But if we think about it, as we're going along, we need to exercise faith and endure to the end, which includes always seeking to improve and finishing strong--sprinting to the finish. As we do that, we need to accept and apply the Atonement. This means we need to believe in Christ as our Savior, follow His teachings, and know He atoned for us. Let me make that straight. We need to know HE atoned for US--individually. If we really have faith in Him, we know His atonement applies to us personally.
Now, as we run along, we have unexpected twists and turns, steep hills, rocky ridges, and rough spots. Sometimes there are trees or other obstacles in our way. Sometimes we feel weak, get tired, and we often stumble. Sometimes we even fall down. But with each experience, we learn more. Each time we take a fall, then take His hand to get up again, we have a little more information. We know to run with our feet a little farther apart, or to watch out for stumps, to slow down at turns and lean in, or things like that. But when we fall and then just sit there, mourning our loss and picking on our silly mistakes, we refuse His outstretched hand. In a sense we say to ourselves--and to Him-- "Look at how many times I've fallen. See how many mistakes I've made. I can't get up because I'll just fall down again. If I can't stay up all the time, I'll just stay down, thanks." In doing so, we do not progress. We give up our chance to move forward, have our bruises and bumps healed, and experience the breath-taking scenery that awaits around every bend. We give up the victory.

Why do we do that? Why would we give up what we want most only to sulk in the dimness of the forest floor? Maybe, if we really understood what He sees, we would take His outstretched hand and go again, knowing that whatever bumps lie ahead are nothing in comparison to the sunrise on the crest of the mountain, where the glory of the Son will swallow up each pain, heal each wound, drive away every fear and wipe away every tear.

I know that Christ's Atonement has power over all. I know He has conquered death, and each pain and sickness. Nothing is stronger than the power of the Atonement. If we will take His hand, He will guide us in our progression forward. May we exercise faith in Him, repent, renew our baptismal covenants, live worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end.

Maree, those quotes are fabulous and so are you! I can't tell you how much I need what you said. You are an angel and I'm so blessed. I'm going to copy and paste those quotes here so others can read them. Know you're my shero and you're in my prayers. I hope Heavenly Father sends me a cool conversation with you, too.

"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives.  We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us.  We have to stop trying to prove something.  We have to learn to be content with what are are."  --Marjorie Pay Hinckley
"We simply cannot call ourselves Christian and continue to judge people- and ourselves- so harshly."  --Patricia Terry Holland

Dad, you are.... he. For sure! Ahahahah! Ah, chuckle. You are such a good man and I'm so thankful you're at the head of our household with Mommy. I'm glad you met Rae's friends and that they are good :) They better be!!!! Dad, I'm glad you're getting better, but I'm sorry it's sooo slow. Your faith is being tested, but I know you'll pass with flying colors! Have you ever wondered why they say that???

Aaron, I'm glad you got to visit my family! I hope things are going well in your first week of school. I expect a report on the thank-yous! Please be careful with all the driving and enjoy the beginning of a new semester! There is much to be learned! :D

Alyssa, you answered my prayers, too! I'm so grateful for your example. You handled that so well and humbly. It's amazing how much that relates to the running analogy. You're so good! And any boy would be a fool NOT to ask you on a date! It doesn't even take extra connections for that! ;) And I know Heavenly Father is blessing you for all you're doing and where your heart is.

Mom, I know just what you mean. It takes great effort as well as time to turn our will to Him, but it is so much better in the end. You are valiant and strong, and you are inspired and tender. I'm so glad I have you for a mommy. Say hi to the Haydens for me! They have a great daughter! Fantastic, actually. And she doesn't talk that fast...

If I can, I'd like to pick hymn #85, especially verses 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7, and share Isaiah 41:10. Good stuff!

The Tolentinos are great! They will be baptized in June due to WoW stuffs, but they are making great progress and are faithful church-goers! They are really accepting the gospel and it's amazing. As for others, we are really trying to find more like them! Please pray for us and them. I love and pray for you!

YOU'RE THE BEST!

Hello, loved ones!

Hello, loved ones! Just want to let you know I'll be sending you pictures as soon as I get my camera back! Haha hopefully that's before next Monday.
I left it in the van when the couple missionaries brought us to our apartment with supplies and the new sisters' luggage. They'll be dropping it by this week.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOU!!!!! I can't believe you're so stinkin' old!!! Anong nangyari? Saan pumunta ang oras?? Grabe. You've got to be the COOOOOOLEST about-to-turn-17-yr-old sister that's ever lived! I hope you're birthday is as fantastic as you are! Please keep it up! You make the world a better place by being YOU!

Happy new baby to  and happy almost-here baby to Darrin and Jerrica! What a beautiful and growing family we have! And welcome and congratulations to the other new member of our family, Amy, and her blessed husband, Koltry! My cousins are great! I'm so blessed to have the family I do! Keep taking care of my wonderful grandparents. You all fill my heart  with such inexpressible joy!

Dad, YOU GET BETTER, man! You are incredibly patient. I'm so thankful for your example. Haha and You glow so loud it makes my ribs hurt! So could ya just tone it down a bit?? :D Hehee good ol' daddy faves. I do love Sky High. But not as much as I love you, Dad.

Mom, I'm thrilled to say we are both learning about time management together. You know, I often think of your great example, especially in wisdom. If ever I wonder what I should be doing or what I might be forgetting, I hear your voice saying, "Did you try__?" or "Did you remember__?" It is a great help, especially when I wonder if I've really done ALL I can. Sometimes the things that come require more effort, more faith, more courage; and it always helps me grow. Thank you for your light, Mom!

Don't let the Millers move. It's bawal. And I'll love ANYTHING I get from you, as long as it includes deodorant without anti-perspirant... I'm on my last one.
Why aren't GandG Fenton coming?? Are they okay?? I'm beyond excited to see you, but don't you worry! There's too much to do here to let myself get distracted. Looking forward to Mother's Day!

I'll pray for your run! Please pray that I won't get super sick like last time because the symptoms are coming on again. I'll start on medicine right away. We can't afford to be out of the work!

Have I Done Any Good is a great hymn! Let's sing it joyfully! And now that we have, let me share the first in a long series of scriptures I will be memorizing. 3 Nephi 5:13 "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people that they might have everlasting life."

Rae, your poem was beautiful. I love it. Your heart is so beautiful. I love that, too. I will pray for you and I know He'll bless you to be an instrument to bring about much good in the lives of those around you. He already is. That is plain for me to see.
Thank you for sharing what you have with me. You are valiant and steadfast. I appreciate all you do for our family and for me as a stalwart example. Heavenly Father loves and is so aware of you.
I found a new favorite painting. Guess who the artist is? Only your favorite. And Sister Hayden touched my heart and gave me her copy. I could hardly believe it. It's beautiful. I think it's called To Be with God. Christ is on a rocky hillside with a canyon-type background and only dry earth and a withered plant or two nearby. He is seated on a rock and praying with His head down and his hands clasped. It's beautiful.

Well, dear ones, please know I love and pray for you! You're the best! I hope you know that! Thank you for all you do and who you are. I can't express to you how blessed I am to have you. Your support and love are heaven-sent. I know that the gospel is true. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that his Son, Jesus Christ is the center of his plan. I know that by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel, we will find peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come. That truth has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet of God and the president of Christ's Church, under the direction of God himself.

I love you!

Last week's email... Sorry... =(

Dear fam and friends,

Kumusta na kayo?? I love you bunches! Just so you know!

I also love my new companion, Sister Grant-- a sweet and awesome 19-yr old sister (THE FIRST IN MANILA MISSION! and about to turn 20) from Rexburg, ID!!!! She's seriously the best! I love her, even though she chose BYU-Hawaii over Idaho :D haha! She's so great and I need her. I'm learning so much from her.

General Conference was a great experience. Bro. and Sis. Tolentino attended both sessions on saturday and the first session on sunday! I wanted to make them stay, but I think it was a little much for them... They really are taking in so much so quickly and I'm so proud of them. We are going to be focusing on their two oldest daughters gaining a witness of the truth, especially the oldest, as they are still pretty hesitant. It would be great if you could keep them in your prayers.

Our ward is still one ward, but now 2 areas. We have the bigger area with few members and lots of businesses, but we also have the most progressing investigators. Anyhow, we still need to do a LOT of finding. We have lots of work to do to establish the Church in this mostly unexplored area. We're going to proselyte the brains out of it and have a good ol' time! It's going to be wonderful! Especially with Sister Grant leading the way!

Want to tell Ashlynn that I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOUR JOB!!! Only the best for the best, love! I'm so glad you see His hand in it all :) What great faith! You are a shining example. Keep taking lots of pics and keeping me updated! I'll sqeeze your guts in four months!

Give my Grammies hugs for me! I got Gram Fenton's email and she just so cute! I have lots of wonderful letters from Gramma Richardson and she's such a faithful writer! What a gal! I have the best moms and dads of moms and dads in the world! XOXO to Grammas and Crappah!

WOOOOOOOWWWWW Sister STROMBERGGGGG!!!! Did you just LOVE her guts?!?!? Cause I DO!!!! Dad, don't feel bad! I know you'll get to visit with her many many more times and I just want you to get better! Have you been to a doctor yet? The power of the priesthood is so real. That power, just like the power to teach according to the authority we have been given as authorized servants by the laying on of hands, is given to us as we prayerfully and worthily exercise our authority, as it says in chapter 1 of PMG. I know that's so true! God gives us permission and authority to do His blessed work and then He blesses us with power to do it in His name on top of that! How amazing that is! I want to teach with greater power unto the bringing of souls to salvation through Christ the Lord!

Dad, you just keep up all YOUR awesomeness that is yours alone and you'll keep blessing my life, the lives of those around me, and the lives of all those around you! THank you!

Lou... Were you trying  to make me jealous or something with all that heavenly cornbread stuff? 'Cause... thou shalt not covet! Haha you better make me some and make it good in the middle of August! Because that's all you can do to repair what you've done to your poor older sister. Heheee joke lang. I'm glad you're enjoying life :) You should! You deserve it. Thank you, too, Lou, for your testimony and for your strength in youth. Stories of the youth are so empowering to me, especially as I have siblings there. You are the rising generation. You can't afford to do anything but your best! And you're doing it :) I'm so proud!

Rae... Pontoffel Pock, where the heck are you??? I miss you, Rae! Email me so I can listen to your sweet voice in your words.. You're such a jewel, a precious and beautiful gem. I want you to see you in the mirror of truth-- through heaven's eyes. What a wonderful woman you are!

Joseph, best of luck on your competetive team! That will be so fun! Make sure to help Mom out, as she'll have lots to do. You're such a good young man. I mean that as more than just "okay" kind of good-- I mean truly good. You are just sooooooo gooooooooood!

Becca, what can I say?? When are you going to send me some of your golden locks so I can make a fortune in the Philippines?? Haha you better be a good little guhl and still keep everyone entertained like you do! Send me some Becca quotes, will ya?

Mom, I wanted to tell you that Sister Dalton's talk was indeed wonderful and that you emulate those things she said. She said that relationships with your daughters are paramount and I know that's true. Your influence in the lives of your children is immeasurable. We are blessed beyond measure to have you! You are meant for greatness, just as you always tell us we are!

Aaron, I hope you have a good week and enjoy all that you're doing! You're making waves in the world, just like you should! You're the best!

Love you alll soooo much!

What a craziness!

Hellooooooooooo loved ones! Greetings from a hot, humid, blessed part of the world!

I just need to share with you how very blessed I feel! I have been blessed to know He hears and answers prayers. God, our Father in Heaven, loves us. He knows us and desires our eternal happiness. He wants us to reach our full potential. He seeks to give us all He can to help us do so. I have had the blessed opportunity of seeing the reality of many of my personal weaknesses. It is a struggle. But oh, how glorious are those moments that we go to Him on our knees and plead for His help. Oh, how His heart must soar as we turn our hearts over to Him! How blessed we are to have the Atonement, by which we can seek and receive heavenly help at all times, in all things, and in all places. I know if we come to Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit, He will give us what we need. He will enfold us in the arms of His love.

I have received an outpouring of blessings and feel to say to Him, "What have I done to deserve all this?? How is it possible??", and maybe even, as did Enos, "Lord, how is it done?" Yes, I am truly blessed! The SUMILANG family --or at least father and mother--are now baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! My heart rejoices for their victories and blessings yet to come. Not to mention the love that I feel emanating from so many whose great generosity I do not deserve. Where is all this goodness coming from?!?!? From a loving Heavenly Father, that's who!

So you know, the Tolentino family is still doing very well!!!! This week, the parents and their second oldest accepted a baptismal date for May 11 and we're still trying to meet with the oldest to help her understand and receive our message as well. She's been busy with work, but her contract's about to end. They all came to church again yesterday! So many did, actually, and it was another very uplifting Sunday! I love Sundays. I love our ward so much. Thank you for your prayers and support! They're being heard and answered and definitely appreciated!

Time FLIES SO FAST! I can hardly believe we're here at a new transfer this coming Thursday. It's in sane. I hope you're going to Sis. Stromberg's homecoming! :D I was blessed to see her for a second because Sis. Hayden and I attended a meeting earlier while she was there at Buendia Chapel for going home stuff. I LOVE HER SO!

Rae, S. Hayden really wants to meet you because of all the good stuffs I've said about you! And her cousin is Lizzie Richards! Go figure, huh? She's a freshman at BYU from what I understand... small world!

I talked to Sis. Dietrich in the office this morning as she was emailing mom! Hi, Mom! Haha I hope she was able to answer your questions and help you get it figured out. For your information, I'm okay if we don't go to Palawan --even though it looks like and sounds like it's absolutely amazing-- because I don't know anyone there. We could spend a whole week just visiting the people I know and love and a few grand places close to or within my areas that I've never seen and spend less money and still have a blast! So, that's up to you. I'll let you decide. Grandpa doesn't need an adapter or anything. There's always been normal outlets in my apartment, which I'm sure they'd also have at any hotel or place we would stay. Tell him not to fret and give him a big hug and kiss for me!

Dad, thank you for the light which you have shared with me, which you have received from our Savior and His mouthpieces. Please know that you are that kind of instrument right now. You have no idea what good your last email did for me. I needed what you shared. It is so precious and true. I treasure those moments of revelation as you do and I appreciate that you felt and obeyed the prompting to share it with me. THANK YOU!

Mom, I want you to know what a shining example you are to me in the acceptance of and adjustment to change. You may feel slow and inadequate, but i guarantee you that you do much better than you realize. I have learned much from you in that regard. You are always one to say, "The only thing constant in life is change... Guess we better get used to it!" Haha and I've been so mabagal (slow) to accept that there may be things happening this next transfer that I don't want. Our area is splitting, which means only half of the wonderful people I adore so much will now be in my reach. Well, roughly half. Anyhow, it will be good. And I still pray I get to stay here, since there are so many changes and no guarantees. I know I'm still in the same apartment, but... Don't know about the rest. I just have been so unwilling to budge on my own desires, though I know His are far greater. That is a hard heart that I am desperately trying to soften. I know He'll help me out :)

By way of news, I'm training again! Pretty exciting and quite humbling, particularly to hear from President of his and the Lord's expectations. Wow. Sister Hayden is also training! She is so inspired and such a remarkable servant of the Lord. I've been --I hope-- forever changed by her goodness and example. If everyone could just be like Sister Hayden, we'd have a pretty incredibly Christ-like world!

Lou, your letter was bomb and so are you! You're so right! Dad's joke was AWESOME! I cracked up! Just like an egg :)

Aaron, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you know that! I'm going to read your email and respond sa bahay mamaya. ayos lang ba iyon sa iyo? Sorry, kiddo, naubos ko yung oras ko ngayon. Love the pics!

I LOVE YOU ALL MORE THAN LIFE! And mom, that's a perfect hymn!

all my love, Sister RIchardson

Happy Easter!

Happy Monday/Sunday to you! HAPPY EASTER!

I hope you had a great one! We sure did :) It was rather miraculous, actually.

On Thursday evening, we took a tricycle home (one of those crazy little cart things attached to a motorcycle. common vehicle of the Philippines). We got out at our apartment and I was getting the money to pay him when he asked us a question about what religion we were. This is a common question, so we answered, not thinking too much of it, but of course hoping that he might be receptive. To our surprise, he most definitely was. I felt a great calm come over me as I testified of simple truths to answer a few of the questions he had. Sister Hayden did the same. We only had maybe 2-3 minutes before we should be in our apartment and the Spirit guided us to say and ask the right things to make those few minutes meaningful. He opened up to tell us that he actually lost a child several years ago, at age six, to illness. We could see this had been a great struggle for him and we testified of God's eternal plan for families and how our message could help his family. He readily agreed to allow us to visit them. We went there on Saturday and were blessed to have 2 members with us whose testimonies were powerful and vital to the overall effect of that first lesson. Brother Tolentino committed to come to church the following day and bring his three children. When we extended the same invitation to Sister, she immediately declined, but we felt that over time that may change. She had mentioned a time or two how she doesn't just go to church just because others go. She wants to go on her own, when she wants to.
Yesterday, sacrament meeting began and we were happy to see our few investigators who made it, but sad to see that Brother had not come. After uplifting talks of the Savior by the bishopric, we got up to leave to go to Gospel Essentials. Just then S. Hayden said excitedly, "Look, Sister! Brother Tolentino came!" There he was, standing in the back, being greeted by a member of the bishopric, with his WHOLE FAMILY :D Even Sister came!!!! To add to our excitement, we had a powerful lesson about the Atonement in Gospel Essentials and were spiritually fed. And in the last combined class, we talked about becoming self-reliant so that we can be neighbors, like the good Samaritan. They were so attentive and it was a great experience for them.
We go back to teach them tomorrow and we pray that their progress will continue as they receive the restored gospel and prepare to make and keep sacred covenants.

I have been yearning to find a family that we can teach and baptize together for most of my mission! I know that God has prepared them and will help us find those He is preparing.

I hope you know how blessed you are! I'm so so sooooo excited for General Conference! And you get it a week sooner than we do! But we'll have our fast sunday this coming week and that will be good to help us prepare. Please again pick some of your favorite things that helped or touched you most and I'll look for them :) THANK YOU!

Mom, that article by E. Teh is wonderful! And you know what??? HE'S OUR AREA PRESIDENT! hehee cool, huh? One temple day, I sat with Sister Stromberg on my left... And E. and Sis. Teh entered the session! Sis. Teh sat at my right! And it was SOOOOPER  cool! :D felt really special. They are very nice and strong people. Speaking of Stromberg, are you going to her homecoming??? She leaves in a week and I can hardly believe it! She turned one year when we were first companions. How time flies!

Who am I again in the ninja clan?? Haha I LOVE MY SIBLINGS~!!!!!

Mom... I'm so excited to really ponder on the things you've shared with me. Thank you so much! I wish that I were able to receive such divine direction in such a vivid and unforgettable way. I guess I do, but it's just different.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND INSIGHTS.... They are felt and answered, applied and appreciated. YOU"RE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

SOrry i don't get to respond properly or wrap this up... i spent a little too much time story telling. Our God is still a God of miracles! Ether 12. I LOVE YOU ALL!

love your pics, Aaron! THank you!!!

Better next time, promise.

love sis. r

Hello ovah deal!

How's everyone doing?? We've had a good week here :D I love our ward so much. I am absolutely in love with them. These people are so wonderful and we have increasing support from them. The spirit of the work is spreading and more and more are getting involved. We coordinated yesterday with several relief society sisters who will be working with us this week and I'm pumped! We also went on splits with a few groups of YSA and a few leaders to visit LA members and  had a great time. They really enjoyed serving and teaching and we reported afterward, which gave the chance for those who haven't served missions to experience accounting for what happened when they taught. I feel like we'll see great success bringing these members back to the fold.

For a while, I have been yearning to find a family that we can teach who will accept the gospel all together. We have found a few prospects for which I am particularly excited, one of which the father has been reading faithfully in the Book of Mormon from the beginning and has now come to church twice. He actually placed all the hymn books on the benches yesterday morning :D We taught he and his wife last night and it was a simple, powerful lesson that brought me such joy.

I was reminded yesterday in RS of the importance of seeing people as they may become, from Pres. Monson's talk in Prsthood session of October Conference. What a fabulous truth! If we will see people as they may become (the way the Father sees us), we can help them to become that! It's amazing and absolutely true. I have a personal goal to see everyone that way. I know that more people will accept the fulness of the everlasting gospel in their lives as we do that.

Dad, THE PROMISE is playing right now on the radio outside the internet shop!!!!! Hahaha thought you oughtta know. Because you would appreciate it :D I sure do!

Before I forget, family, I want you to know that I've been praying more fervently and frequently for your success and strength in the things you are experiencing and facing. How were Alyssa's many adventures? State Solo and Ensemble? The prom song and prom? How is Rae and when does she come home to stay? How big is Joseph and how's basketball? Is the season over? How sassy is Boo and what's she teaching us today?

What you said, Dad, is so true. That's really how He works. We need to just do our best to get the Spirit, and then let Him work. Let Him use us as instruments to bring about His miracles. You are ALWAYS needed!!! And I hope that is a testament to you of that. The work has need of willing men who wear the workers seal. The work to do is here for you! Put your shoulder to the wheel! You always do, Dad. You always do. And your emails are always a pure joy to read ;) It makes me feel good to know you take such care to write them! Love you bunches!

Mom, thank you so much for the updates! I love just knowing how you all are. I hope that all continues to go well as you trust in Him and do the work He keeps calling you to do. Thank you SO MUCH for your sweet sayings... You just make me feel soooo goooood! And you and Dad absolutely are the best. The best best best. I am so thankful for the blessed opportunity to learn and grow with you and because of you. You teach me so much all the time.

Since you will be gathered with our beloved friends and family for Easter, may I send you a quick message to read/share/pass along to them if you can?:

"First of all, HAPPY EASTER! I love you all SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I miss you incredibly, but I know we are exactly where we need to be.
I was thinking this morning on how incredibly blessed I am to serve a full-time mission. It truly is an opportunity that many would love to have and I was blessed to be plucked from the midst of my own little busy life to be called to do something much greater. Sister Hayden's favorite quote is this, and I love it, too: "...Men and women who turn their lives over to God will find out that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can." ~Ezra Taft Benson. I'm so blessed that Heavenly Father let me know what He wanted for me.
As I thought about the value of my mission to me and to the whole of my life, I realized that I would trade it for nothing in all the world. Even my deepest dreams and desires paled in comparison. For example, I've always dreamed of musical success and a life filled with song, singing for any and all who would listen and helping others feel the joy I feel in music. Even more so, I long to have a love and family of my own. These things I know will come to me according to the Lord's will and time. My service as a missionary, on the other hand, has given me an opportunity to find an even deeper joy than any I have experienced in music alone--to aid in God's work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man, made possible through His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And this joy will carry over into every aspect of my life for all eternity, effecting my family now and in the future. I have the blessed opportunity to help other families to receive what I have now and will yet receive, which is the fullness of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ.
Christ's gospel allows us to receive the fullness of the blessings of His Atonement, which He performed in our behalf to enable us to return to live with the Father and receive "..all that the Father hath." I know that Christ lived perfectly, suffered selflessly, died painfully, and lived again triumphantly, in order to bring about the bowels of mercy and meet the demands of justice (Alma 34: 15-16 {8-16}). I know that through acceptance of His perfect atonement, that our burdens can be lifted, our lives changed, our hearts softened, and our salvation secured. I know that Christ lives. He is our Savior and Redeemer. This is His Church and His gospel, which He now leads through President Thomas S. Monson. He restored it through the prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon contains His gospel and His word, by which we shall be judged at the last day. He is real and He loves us. I love HIM!!!
I love you, family and friends! May our Father bless you as you turn your lives over to Him. I promise He will make more out of them than we ever could. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

I believe I'm over time, shoot a mile!
Aaron, sorry! I'm going to have to print your email again... Please forgive me. We're still enjoying yummy chocolate and happy stuffs! THank you!!!

THis is a fave scripture of mine: ALMA 29:9

Simply Beautiful

Dear family! Happy week to you!

It's been a long one for us here... We were pretty cooped up for most of it. I got either a really nasty cold or strep and I was wiped out for about 4 days. Our work looked really shabby, but we prayed a lot and I personally took a lot of comfort in PMG and the words of the living prophets.
I was really struggling because I wanted so much to be productive, but I just couldn't do a whole lot. Everything was really exhausting. And the worst part was that my body needed sleep sooooo much.... and I couldn't sleep. It was rough. I felt like I was wasting time because even the time I should have spent resting didn't seem to be fulfilling its purpose. If that makes sense. I was really stressed about it and Sister Hayden was so patient and comforting. She served me in a million and one different ways, anticipating every need. She's the best. I was particularly troubled about my lack of sleep and whether I should just be out working when I opened Preach My Gospel to the page in ch. 3, lesson 2, about resurrection and judgment. I was thinking.. "Great. I'm going to be judged as a lazy missionary." ...Not so encouraging. I began to read the first paragraph and was filled with peace at the last sentence, which said in effect, "We will stand before the Father to be judged according to our works and our desires." I had desires to do what He wanted me to do. I have desires to help bring His children to Him through the gospel of Jesus Christ. My desires weren't lacking. And there wasn't a whole lot I could do about my ability to work. So I spent some time praying for our investigators and members. It was very comforting.

Though we had very few lessons, we really tried to make all our time count. We had some strong commitments from people to come to church.. And by faith and prayers and the service of faithful members, THEY CAME! It was WONDERFUL. We saw many potential future priesthood-holders come, as well as a young woman really progressing toward baptism. It was a beautiful blessing. It was a miracle. And we need that continued help to continue to bring them back, as well as their families and many more.

To make yesterday even better, we had our quarterly ward missionary fireside. Wow. Now that was sweet. At first I was pretty sad, looking at the number who showed up. But then our young RM ward mission leader started teaching and presenting and I could see that it was still going to be effective. We had some good support and hoped these topics of discussion really would take action afterward. Little did I know just how impactful it could be.
The real magic happened when we talked about activating every member--helping them use the gospel and teaching skills to help their fellow members return and to help people come to church. Sister Hayden and I had a moment to practice teaching Br. Antonio (Ward Mission Leader) as a demonstration, and then they got a chance to put what they learned into action--to teach other returned missionaries in their ward. As they practiced with different individuals in different scenarios, not knowing beforehand the concern of each individual, S. Hayden and I visited each room several times to listen and observe. After each practice, each group that was teaching got feedback, and it was powerful. They really enjoyed it! As the practicing went on, they were filled with an excitement and love. They just glowed!
Br. Antonio taught them to Know, Feel, and Do, as it suggests in PMG, ch2. He took knowing the doctrine, feeling the Spirit, and doing (commitments and commandments), and added another side to it: Know the concern, help them Feel love (ours and the Saviors), and invite to Do (still commitments and commandments). Both are super important and I loved seeing them catch the spirit and joy of missionary work. It increased my own understanding and desire.

To sum up this week, I just want to quote Pres. Lorenzo Snow and add the tidbits of wisdom with which we've been blessed this week. First, "Do not expect to become perfect at once. If you do, you will be disappointed. Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today."
How true this is! It does not mean we need to make excuses for our behaviors that are conflicting with the Savior's teachings or to avoid aiming high. No. It is just the opposite. Instead, we are to reach for our greatest potential--to become like our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through Christ's Atonement--day by day as They intended. We are to learn and grow, stretch and reach, as we experience the joys and challenges of daily life and strive to follow the commandments and teachings of God. We are to learn from our mistakes, apply the Atonement, and move forward with hope as we try each day to stand a little taller. It really is that simple.
I testify that God is perfect. He wants us to be, too. And we can be. One day at a time. His Plan is perfect. That does not mean it is complicated. It is in fact, simple. And that is what is so beautiful about it. He will help us to improve, simply through our day to day experience and effort on our part. I love the gospel. I love that it is simple. It is true. It is real. It is full, complete, and perfect.

Just as a quick addition to that, I really enjoyed the article written by someone who works for LDS Family Services in the Liahona... I'm sure it's in the Ensign, too. I forget if they have the same main topic and stuff. I'm sure they do. It's the cover article on p. 10, How to Raise Resilient Children. I love the simple principles there that we can apply to ourselves.

Random note: look at p. 33 in the new For the Strength of Youth booklet... THat's the Philippines! That's my temple! :D And every morning at our apt, we hear a school or church group singing. One of my first mornings here they sang a song that they sing at church in the movie Take a Chance... Lol thought Lou and Rae would enjoy that. "Lord I love to sing your praises... I'm so glad you're in my life. I'm so glad you came to save us." hahaha

Dad, I need to join with you in studying those great biblical words... :D Hehee you know what it's like studying on the mission. SO MUCH TO DO! But everything in its time. I love that hymn, too! Sacrifice does bring forth the blessings of Heaven. And obedience is greater than sacrifice. Love it!
Mom, I just have 2 mins and want to say you're amazing! Keep it all up! I'll pick the hymn Help Me Teach with Inspiration. it's lovely and so are you!
Lou, you are SOOOOO talented! I love what you made! You are so good! I'll print your email and respond next week, I'm sorry!!!!!!
Rae, I LOVE YOU! You are golden and unique and just the best! Some of the things I said today are just for you. Especially the talk in the Ensign.
Joseph, you pogi kid you! And Boodledoo you stinker-poo! Goshh, I love yall!!!
Aaron, my apologies for not responding til next time, but i loved the clothespins!!!!!!!! sneaky guy

all my love, sis r

Writing Backwards

I've been writing this email backwards, so for you it's the beginning, but for me it's time to close. Just want you do know that we got to have Sister Stucki work with us last thursday and it was an incredibly spiritual experience tha twill change my mission. she was bold with love, directed everything from the book of mormon, and didn't hesitate to bring up baptism. i love her so!

sis hayden and i are good :) happy. Had another investigator come to church yesterday and is excited to keep coming. improvements are happening. great miracles are on the way!

Alyssa Lou, you're so stinking cute and fun! you are anxiously engaged in great causes! I'm so glad you're finding joy in singing the way you do! I love that we share that love. Keep it up! you will go very far. You're going to be a running, singing, piano and cello-playing maniac!!! In concert!!! :D what a doll! Show em what you're made of, babestum! Don't let Satan  tell you any different! Knock em dead!

Mom... Ah, Mom! You just rock! You just do! Please give each of those wonderful blessings a big hug and keep doing what you're doing! Congratulations to sweet Christina! How I love her and wish I could have seen her. She's such a wonderful woman. You are raising some great ones yourself, Ma, and I'm in awe at your second on down to the fifth ;) Yvonne, Jodi, and Leslie are all fantastic--which is why they are drawn to other fantastic ppl like you! I feel like even though you may have not felt that coming, Mom, I did. I'll have to tell you about that some other time. Remember your story for next time!

Dad. Your emails are just packed with life. I love it. It's adventurous just to read them! I'm so glad you had fun and saw a lot and got to hear about Aaron's craziness, even in the days of his childhood. I believe he'll always be that way. Dear Father, I'm also glad you got some shut-eye after all of that adventuring and learning and driving. You deserve it! How was the jerky? Code: what you told Mom was right....eous!!! Hehee she is D-Best and my prayers will be with her as well. I can't believe it, Daddy! We're twinners! That means you spent 6 months in each area? You had four areas? Or only three areas and transferred only twice? Anywho, I expected to transfer, just didn't think it'd be back to the city. But I already love the ward. We have a fantastic bishop and great support here. Just got to get our little tails in gear! We're still working to sort through some things and get organized.

Aaron, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the package!!! It's so much fun and I still need to finish ordering the clothes pins. Haha I hope I can put them to good use somehow :) What a creative soul you have! Thank you so much for your support and humor that keep me going. It's such a blessing to have a friend like you! Sister Hayden was a little surprised when I punched my desk and we watched one of those astig balloons self-inflate! Haha I wish I hadn't warned her. And the balloon was cold! ChEmiCaL ReAcTiOn! hehee FUn stuff! I might pull a generous Aaron and share with my zone tomorrow. We'll see. The sock snowman would be super cute... or at least pretty cute, if it weren't for his really big man-eating lips! AAAAAAAHHHHH! Joke lang. well, medyo. Anywho, you made my week! You're the best! Good luck with the google conf, even tho i don't know what it is, and especially with the purchase of a reliable and affordable vehicle, and your upcoming classes. You can do it! You can do anything with His help! No doubt. You're the best!

Sis. Monica Gupta, salamat talaga sa mga emails mo sakin. natutuwa ako na ayos na yung kalusugan ng ate mo. alam ko na dahil sa faith and prayers ng marami, nangyari yan. magaling ka, sterrr! lagi ko natatandaan yung sinasabi mo paulit-ulit: "you are so gooood, sister!" :D YOU are SO GOOD, sister! Keep it up! Mahal na mahal kita! At siyempre, namimiss din kita! The Lord bless you and keep you. Nagustuhan ko ang kwuento na shinare mo sakin. Salamat dyan! Ingat ka this week, ha? Love, your anak.

Priscila, I'm so glad you're doing well! It's a breath of fresh air to hear from you! What a fantastic missionary you are! I'll be emailing you particularly once I get the memo from my President. Please take care and know you're loved! How's everything! Are you an assistant, yet?? :D Everything's good here in the city... Not a whole lot to say accept that we need to step it up a notch to consistently meet our standards of excellence--and all of them. How does that work over there with you on temple square? Keep warm and I'll try to keep cool! Love you!

Dear Gma Richardson, I received some beautiful notes from you and I just want you to know how much i love and appreciate you. THank you so much for the uplifting and inspiring messages! I'm working on writing again... Sorry it's been a while. You're the best! Thank you for your strength!

Dear Gma and Gpa Fenton, I LOVES YOUS!!!! I'm so glad you got to visit. You are such wonderful people and I'm so glad to call you mine. I'm working on writing to you again, I know it's been a while. I'm sorry about that. Keep the faith! You're the best!

Dearest loved ones

Dearest loved ones,

This has been an interesting few days. First of all, I was shocked out of my mind to find out I was transferring.... to Pasay City. WOW. As in least-expected zone in all of our mission, besides Narra because it's still off-limits for Sisters. IT NEVER EVEN CROSSED MY MIND. I'll be honest and tell you I wanted to go ANYWHERE but back to the city... I would have chosen Narra if I had a say! I love me my province. It's just nice in every way. But I'm not the one who decides. It's God.

So I got here. I said goodbye to my sweet and wonderful anak and my best ward missionary friend Joyce and her sweet tatay and hello to... Sister Hayden! A sweet new missionary! I was really surprised to find out that I was following up her training. I thought we got some kind of notice for that, but I guess not :)

Well, long story short, Sister Hayden is about the sweetest person on the face of the planet. She is incredibly humble and selfless. I am already learning so much from her. She is from Washington and loves rain --surprise!-- and is such a smarty when it comes to the gospel and missionary work. She loves it and she helps me see things I never saw or understood before. I need her. And I feel like, even if for nothing else, she's the reason I'm here in Pasay. We need each other. I know Heavenly Father has great plans in store for both of us and for our area. We have fantastic leaders. Meetings with the members are so great and I was warmly received to this ward. We've got great work to do together!

Lou, CoNgRaTs!!! You'll do a fantastic job! Get it recorded if you can, so I can watch or at least listen when I get home!

Dad, your hidden messages were "disregarded", loud and clear! :D Haha you're fun. I love the ocean. It makes me soooo happy. I miss seeing it. There's no ocean in the city. Just... buildings. But hey. There's fast food.. haha like I care! The Mannings sure are good people! And so's that Aaron fellow. Give them all a big wave and a nice firm handshake for me :D teehee. Thank you for the happy message I always look forward to from you! Food for the soul.

Mom, I know He really does bless us as we seek His will and do our part. Please tell dear Aunt Teri that there is no such thing in the Philippines :D She really should come. I received a response from her and emailed her back. I was worried that they couldn't come for other reasons, but if she is just worried about getting in the way, I say with all assurance of heart, that I INVITED YOU, SILLY! :D Just do it! I want the whole world to come! I want everyone we know and love to meet these people and experience their unique ways. They are so humble.

Your progress, my dear family, I often feel surpasses mine. The Lord is blessing us tenfold.

Goodness, Mom, you just know! How do you just know?!?!?! You are SO in-tune and I am so blessed to call you Mom. I know that God hears and answers our prayers. I am living proof of answers to the prayers you have sent Heavenward. I have been so blessed because of your faith, and the faithful prayers of family and friends around the world. THANK YOU! I also pray for you.

Maree', I don't have words to express what I want to about what I've read of your email so far. That will be my next project. But I want to tell you that you're right on the money. Back to the basics. I had a beautiful experience with the Atonement yesterday and earlier this morning. Sister Hayden and I discussed how, central to and behind all the principles and ordinances of the gospel, all the doctrines of salvaion, all commandments and covenants, is the Atonement. It was the answer to the search I've been on. Focusing on my purpose as a missionary, on the first principles and ordinances of the gospel and inviting others to do it, essentially is focusing on Christ and His Atonement. It's that simple. It doesn't require fancy footwork or a mega-mind. It just requires us--just as we are. And He will make of us more than we could ever make of ourselves; just a little at a time.

Aaron, what you did was so noble and wonderful! I'm so proud and I think you're great! What's that big word there mean? the multibillion-dollar ...thingy?

Love you all more than words!

Another transfer!

Well, here we go! Another transfer is coming to a close! That one was insanely fast, as it was only 5 weeks instead of 6 to accommodate the changes in schedule with the MTCs. Sister Fernando and I didn't really finish the 12week training program and... off she goes! She's got a brand-new companion coming and we have no idea where she's from. --YES, it's true, SIS. FERNANDO IS TRAINING!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I am so proud of her. She's the best and I really felt all along like she was going to train right away. She's a fantastic missionary and will do wonders for a new sister in the field. She's so loving and patient and I'm excited to see what happens next.

As for me, I don't have a clue! I guess I'll be telling you next monday from wherever I'll be, because it's apparently bawal for the zone leaders to tell us until district meeting tomorrow.... niyeck. (funny grumpy sound that Philippinos make from time to time. It's a sort of expression I actually don't quite understand. heehee)

The work is good! Noveleta is wonderful and always will be. It is continuously progressing. There are many exciting and promising things on the way for the missionaries and members--and of course those who aren't members, yet--here in Noveleta, Cavite. I'm going to miss it soooooooooooooooooo much. Cried my eyes out yesterday at church saying goodbye to people. They're the best. And I'm just no good at goodbyes. But you know, I know they're not permanent. They're just future "hello again"s :) if that makes sense.

Ashlynn, I miss your guts! And Sarah Roring, I miss yours, too! I've got personal letters in the works for the two of you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the love and warmth you send me through your words. You're the best!

Sis. Gupta, I'm really sorry to hear about your sister :( Know that you will be in my prayers as will she. All is well here in our happy mission. Keep the faith, sister! I know you've got what it takes!

As always, I grin from ear to ear as I read my families' emails :D Dad, I'm glad you're safe and please be safe again this coming trip. Haha is that spring cleaning fever I'm feeling?? Haha I'm sure Mom would enjoy that! We'll surely ride a pigme (isn't that a goat??) and have lots of fun! Can I ask who's coming??? ...Just curious! Lou, don't you dare cut it! I'm so jealous of it. Don't you dare do that. Oh wait, you're right. I mean, I very much admire it. And Sis. Murdoch, whose email was really cool and exciting. Go, Murdochs!!! And go new YW leader! And go, your group for prom song! And go your speedy-sanchez legs, lil peaches! And go Rae's pumpkin--and never come back! Hahaha what a kid!

Ma, I've been thinking about all you've said and how it relates to the role of our Savior, Jesus Christ, our role in His Church, and the blessings I've received learning from my companions--especially as I've had the privilege to serve a new missionary. I had a great challenge these last few days where lots of things piled up and I just couldn't get them sorted through emotionally. With the help of my companion and the Spirit, I made a few discoveries--or was blessed with a little enlightenment regarding myself and others. I know that the principle of service plays such an important role in the Church of Jesus Christ. I know that we need to be humble to desire to serve, receive promptings to do so, and to receive the blessings of others serving us. We cannot become perfect without each other. That is the Spirit of Elijah and the Spirit of missionary work, as well as the spirit of service. It's all related! It's all the same! It's all important. It's all Christ's.

Mom, if I could be so rude as to ask for another small PMG for one of the elders in my district, he would be ever so grateful! And i could probably use one or 2 more of those great NON-anti-perspirant deodorants that you so thoughtfully sent me! You're super the best, I hope you know! Let's do sing Nephi's courage! I love Alma 26:12 (tama ba iyon?) sooo good.

Aaron, you're soo right and that's so true! I'm super glad that people are coming to understand and love more those wonderful people. Keep it up! You're the best!

Love you allllllllll sooooooooooooo much!!! YOU"RE THE BEST!

Love, Sis. RIchardson

WOW! It's a wonderful life!

Hello, hello, hello! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a wonderfully amazing package and all the joy and love that oozed from it! Best Valentine's Day/Christmas package EVER!!!!!!!!! :D

Thank you, Mom, for the mascara! Joyce and AJ are so grateful and excited :D Plus maybe now they'll work with us more ;) hehee! And thank you for the best lip gloss on the planet, yummy yummy treats, and especially for the pictures! We love our mini PMG to bits, as well as our adorable journals! You are absolutely ama-zazing! We love you bunches!

Thank you, Sam, for the bag! I've actually used it several times now in addition to my proselyting bag to carry extra books and things to meetings :) I can't use it every day, of course, but it has come in handy many a time already!

I loved reading the letters :) haha even though some were from when I first came on my mission. It's interesting to see how things have changed--how WE have all changed. I love it :) It's good to see the blessings we have received in such a short period of time. It blows my mind.

Sister Ronquillo is a returned missionary! Congratulations, love! Maganda ung mga pics nyo! Extended family mo ba yun?

Jason Nessen, I would like to politely ask you to read my sister Maree's first speech, which highlights forgiveness and patience and then to consider doing the same for me :D haha!!!! Jason, I'm soooo sorry! I'm still constructing... You're brilliant and I just have a normal every-day person type of brain. My masterpiece is yet in the works. And you remain the pinaka-mastermind when it comes to sulat-ing mga statements na ginto... hahaha at least i'm good at taglish!

Gram, I'm definitely in a warm enough place! We've got loads of flowers here--and palm trees! Hearts and flowers, hugs and kisses to you! Sure love you!

Lou, you sure are a ray of light! Maree's speech was soooooo gooooooood! and so true! What a gal! A shero, for sure! keep it up :) in every way. onward and upward. that is indeed and epic and admirable scripture study goal! I need to work on my own biblical skills, which are surely lacking. in the study of both, we will see how they really do work together to testify of Christ and help us understand His gospel. I miss you, but not too much, because I know we're where we need to be and God is doing great things with us and for us. More blessings than i can count!

Maree', you sure are talented! You know, you and Lou have a lot of similarities right there in what you wrote :) Galing, no? :D You are such a great example, a hard worker. And your efforts payed off! They always will in the long run. Congrats on your great grade! You earned it! Love your guts, girl.

Aaron, did your finishing grade turn out 100%??? Of course! Good for you! I'm excited for you! That fireside... Is that a church fireside? Are your boss's kids cute? What is his religion? Did you get to share with him, too?

Mom, you are wonderful! I feel your love and effort all the time. You are so good. May I suggest for our two youngest the section of Doctrine and Covenants on the priesthood... particularly the last 2 pages of the section. I forgot the section and verse, but it's the one that starts with "Many are called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen?..." and then ends with the powers of heaven distilling upon the soul as the dews from heaven. Maybe I just like it because it's masarap basahin... delicious to read. but anyway. You've got the right one baby, uhuh!

Let's sing The Daydawn is Breaking!

Dad and Craig, please forgive me! I have to print your emails and respond next week! I am so glad that dad's safe and all's well and happy in our little piece of heaven. I love you all sooooooo much!

We had a great zone conference on friday. the spirit was indescribably strong. we were chastised by the Lord through our mission president and it was really hard and really wonderful. I loved it.

Be good and keep it up! love, sis r

MIRACLES and more!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wonderful family!

I want to share with you the incredible experience we had, by the prayer of faith.

Yesterday, we had a missionwide fast for an increase in faith, as well as a couple other things. Talk about a powerful experience! Just knowing every missionary, as well as our President, his wife, and his counselors were fasting at once was powerful. President Stucki has been inspired to focus on faith and the miracles that follow if we pray and work in faith. Our God is truly a God of miracles. He has been and always will be.

Yesterday morning, we got a text from the Santos family. For a quick background on them, they are FANTASTIC! They are reading the Book of Mormon faithfully, praying together and individually, attending church, and just wanting so much to be baptized. The only reason they aren't already is because Sister was married to someone else before and there is no legal divorce in the P. They can get an annulment, but it is insanely expensive. Not affordable for the average Filipino. So the rule by President is that if they have a former legal spouse, but are separated from them and now have another, they have to have been with their current spouse (because they can't get married a second time) for 5+ years and have a very good relationship before they can be baptized. Bro. and Sis. Santos have only been about 2 1/2 years... So they are doing all they can and waiting until 2015/2016 so they can be baptized! Amazing, I know. So, we received a text from them yesterday saying that they didn't have money to come to church and were really sad they couldn't make it. We were really sad, too. We had just taught about the importance of keeping the Sabbath Day holy and they had firmly committed to do so... Sis. Santos also has a couple friends who were supposed to attend with them, one of whom will be baptized this coming March 2. I began praying that somehow, they would be able to make it. I felt a sense of peace that wouldn't leave me. It wouldn't let me be discouraged or worry about how it could happen. They live quite far from the church and probably couldn't walk because their son has fairly severe asthma. We just prayed. We asked for help for them and for others to be able to attend.
We got to church and were greeting people. We were so excited to see some wonderful people--early, even! Suddenly, someone grabbed my shoulder. I quickly turned to see Sister Santos standing there in her Sunday best! We excitedly greeted each other and I asked her how they made it. She said to me in Tagalog, "We found a way to come..."

My heart swelled to overflowing as the blessings poured down. The Sumilang family brought their two oldest children for the first time!!! And they brought their own families! I couldn't contain my joy when the meeting started and I looked over my right shoulder to see Brother Navarro sitting there! Bro. Navarro is a member  whom I love so much who hasn't come to church in the time I've been here. And he brought a friend! We were truly blessed beyond measure. We sang The Spirit of God... and like a fire it was burning. And after a wonderful sacrament meeting, the classroom for Gospel Essentials was absolutely crowded!

I just want to reaffirm to you that our God is a God of miracles. He was yesterday, He is today, and He will be forever.

Dad, it's all super good! Please give the Ellis' a good squeeze for me (in a cool, manly way, of course) and let Angus know he's got a letter on the way! Please be safe, Daddy! It's a dangerous world out there--bug-eat-bug type! So go slow on the ice and soak up the sun! Give Ann the.. ehem... lovely... a run for her money and everyone else a big hug! I'm going to interview with you when I get home! And for now, we'll have a good heart-to-heart in that very place. (hint: our hearts ;D )

Mom, I am so glad for what you've shared--all of it! Thank you again. And again and again. I know you can do it. I know you can. I'm completely convinced along with Dad and the rest, that you are superwoman. 'Nuff said. And, of course, yes, I know, it's because you rely on Him :) And all the better for it, love! I heard a song this morning on S. Fernando's flash drive that I've rename. It's called A Woman's Heart... It's now My Mommy's Heart. Not sure of the artist, but it completely describes you. As for Boo, I dont like those incredibly ugly dirty creatures either, but we've got powerful weapons, so we're safe :D Alyssa needs to show off her voice to me when I get home. Joseph needs to talk a lot so I can get used to his lowering speaking voice! Maree' is so cool to support her teammate with an eternally significant and personally monumental step in her life.

Sis. Gupta, alam q na kayang kaya mo talaga!!!!!!!!! You can do ANYTHING with His help! And you've got it :D totoo, sis. totoo yan. Tuloy ka sa faith mo kay Cristo. Posible ang lahat sa kanya. Alam mo yun. Mahal kita super!

Aaron, I don't think I need it... It still freaks out, but it's still working. It'll survive til August, I'm betting. You're the best! Thank you tons and keep it up! Happy bday to your Momma! :D

Love you, Gma and Gpa!

HAPPY BAWENTINES TO AWW! love, sis r
